Strength training benefits everyone, but females who train frequently get a significantly greater increase in longevity than men.

Resistance training does more than help us develop strong muscles.
A brand-new research study finds ladies who do strength training exercises 2 to 3 days a week are most likely to live longer and have a lower danger of death from heart problem, compared to females who do none.
“We were exceptionally impressed by the finding,” says research study author Martha Gulati, who is likewise the director of preventive cardiology at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles.
Of the 400,000 people included in the study, just 1 in 5 women did regular weight training. But those who did, saw tremendous benefits.
“What surprised us the most was the truth that ladies who do muscle fortifying had a decrease in their cardiovascular mortality by 30%,” Gulati says. “We don’t have lots of things that decrease death because way.”
Strength training is also helpful for bones, joints, state of mind and metabolic health. And at a time when numerous women concentrate on aerobic activity and be reluctant to do weightlifting, the findings contribute to the proof that a combination of both types of workout is powerful medicine. “Both need to be prescribed,” Gulati says.
